SB 158: Removing Barriers to Medication Assisted Treatment [Position: IN SUPPORT]

Relative to authorization for clinician-prescribed substance use disorder services. This bill declares that if substance use disorder services are a covered benefit under a health benefit plan, no prior authorization shall be required for prescribed medications for a substance use disorder.

New Futures supports SB 158, which reduces administrative burdens for primary care providers seeking to provide medication assisted treatment services to individuals with substance use disorder.
