SB 247: Childhood Lead Poisoning [POSITION: IN SUPPORT]

This bill addresses the issue of lead poisoning among children in the state and puts in place critical policy to protect children from avoidable harm.

New Futures supports SB 247 as it protects children from an avoidable harm and encourages healthy child development. This bill establishes provisions to ensure drinking water is safe, increases screenings for children, and sets up a public fund to help with lead remediation costs.
