As the Vice President of Community Engagement, Sarah oversees the Community Engagement team in recruiting and training advocates, working with grassroots volunteers, and coordinating coalition-building with partner organizations. She develops and manages strategies for mobilizing advocates around New Futures' policy priorities.
Prior to joining New Futures Sarah earned her Masters in Public Administration at Northeastern University as well as a Nonprofit Certificate in The Nonprofit Sector in Philanthropy and Social Change. She is passionate about social justice, particularly issues effecting marginalized populations. In 2014 she received the Presidential Gold Service Award for completing 2000 hours of Community Service for service with New Futures as a VISTA VetCorps member where she expanded the organizations capacity to New Hampshire Veterans, and active duty service members. Her other volunteer service includes the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. She also worked for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice and co founded Silent Conflicts, a global NGO focused on devising social peace indicators in rural developing countries. In her spare time she enjoys dancing and hiking.
