Sheila manages day-to-day public relations, publication development, and all of our digital channels. She makes sure that helpful and "take action" information gets to those who need it.
Before joining New Futures Sheila worked as a Special Projects and Publicity Director in the New Hampshire non-profit sector where she worked on variety of state level policy issues spanning from Medicaid Expansion to women’s rights. In 2015 she moved back to New Hampshire from Texas where she worked in the political arena as a fundraiser on both the national and local level in correlation with a gubernatorial race. In 2012 she ran 200 State House campaigns under the guidance of the former speaker of the New Hampshire House Terie Norelli.
Sheila is originally from Puerto Rico and grew up in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. She received her Bachelor of Arts in communications and a minor in philosophy from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. She loves to brag about being raised and educated in the Granite State. Over the course of her undergraduate studies Sheila lived in Athens, Greece where she extensively studied public relations and communications strategies around the overall European economy, the Greek economic decline and various EU policy issues.
