NEW FUTURES STATEMENT ON THE COMMITTEE’S VOTE ON MARIJUANA COMMERCIALIZATION
CONCORD, N.H. – In response to today’s vote against marijuana commercialization in the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, Kate Frey, Vice President of Advocacy at New Futures, released the following statement:
“Today’s vote against the legalization and commercialization of marijuana in the Granite State is an important step in keeping New Hampshire a healthy place to live, work, and raise a family. At New Futures, we agree with the committee that allowing Big Marijuana into New Hampshire is bad for our workforce, our kids, and the overall public health of our state. We look forward to further examining this issue through the legislatively established study commission, HB 215, that is charged with producing an evidence informed thorough report on what the legalization, regulation, and taxation of marijuana would mean for New Hampshire. Until then, we hope that the full House will heed the committee’s recommendation and vote down HB 656.”
