hb 656 sent to interim study
CONCORD, N.H. – This afternoon, the full NH House of Representatives voted to send HB 656, which would legalize marijuana, to interim study. In response, Kate Frey, Vice President of Advocacy at New Futures, released the following statement:
“Thank you to our representatives for keeping in mind the health and safety of New Hampshire and sending HB 656 to interim study,” Frey said. “This will give the study commission on marijuana legalization and commercialization a chance to do its work. The evidence is clear, as highlighted by medical, public safety, and prevention experts, that marijuana legalization will have detrimental impacts on New Hampshire’s thriving communities. With this vote, our representatives recognized the risks and did their job to support health and wellness in the Granite State.”
