NEW FUTURES STATEMENT ON SB 313
CONCORD, N.H. – This afternoon, the House Health, Human Services, and Elderly Affairs Committee voted 21-0 to recommend SB 313, which would reauthorize Medicaid Expansion, ought to pass to the full NH House of Representatives. In response, Michele Merritt, New Futures’ president and CEO of New Futures, released the following statement:
“Medicaid Expansion is the single most important program we have to keep New Hampshire residents healthy and we thank the legislators on the committee for their recognition of the necessity for the Granite State to reauthorize the program,” said Merritt. “Not only is the program essential to keeping New Hampshire healthy and combatting the opiate epidemic, but it also supports a vibrant workforce and brings over $400 million in federal funds into the state each year. It just makes sense for the full House to agree with the majority of Granite Staters and heed the committee’s unanimous recommendation to pass SB 313 and reauthorize this critical program.”
