NEW FUTURES STATEMENT ON SB 313 HOUSE PASSAGE
CONCORD, N.H. – Today, the NH House voted 222-125 to pass SB 313 and reauthorize Medicaid Expansion. Now, the bill will move to the House Finance Committee. In response, Michele Merritt, New Futures’ president and CEO of New Futures, released the following statement:
“Medicaid Expansion is the single most important tool we have to keep New Hampshire residents healthy. We applaud the House of Representatives for this strong show of support for reauthorizing this critical program,” said Merritt. “Not only is Medicaid Expansion essential to keeping New Hampshire healthy and combatting the ongoing addiction epidemic, but it also supports a vibrant workforce and brings over $400 million in federal funds each year into the Granite State economy. We will continue to work with legislators as SB 313 moves forward into the House Finance Committee, and we look forward to reauthorizing Medicaid Expansion and securing the health of our friends and neighbors.”
