Public Hearing - Responsible Cannabis Policy
- Price: FREE
HB 1633, the only bill in the legislature this year attempting to legalize cannabis for adult use, falls short of meeting New Futures' Principles for Responsible Cannabis Commercialization.
In it's current form, the bill does not provide any funding to reduce the harms of legalizing another addictive product. More money needs to be dedicated to mental health and substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a public hearing on HB 1633 on Thursday, April 25 at 1:45 pm at the State House in Room 100.
Take Action:
- Sign in to OPPOSE the bill in its current form.
- Email the Committee to urge them to amend the bill to include funding for prevention, treatment, and recovery programming.
- Attend the hearing in person - let us know if you're interested!
If New Hampshire moves in the direction of legalizing recreational cannabis through a commercial model, it is imperative to get the policy right from the start.
