New Hampshire needs sustainable, comprehensive funding for Family Resource Centers. Family Resource Centers are a specific network of community-based, non-profit organizations located throughout the state; all of which provide an array of family-strengthening programs and supports such as home visiting, parent education, Kinship Navigation, Resource Navigation, youth programs, playgroups, early supports and services, developmental screening, childcare, and concrete supports among others. The interventions, resources, and community found at FRCs are a critical part of the infrastructure necessary to support healthy maternal, child, and family outcomes.
Why It Matters
Safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments for children in the early years are critical to healthy development and future well-being. Assuring the well-being of all families is the cornerstone of a healthy society, and requires universal access to support programs and services. This requires a shift in human services delivery that encourages public and private agencies to work together and to become more preventive, responsive, flexible, family-focused, strengths-based, and holistic – and thus more effective.
