New Futures Appoints New Vice President of Policy

CONCORD, N.H. – New Futures announced today that Jake Berry has joined the health policy and advocacy organization to further develop the organization’s policy expertise in healthcare, substance use, and early childhood. As Vice President of Policy, Jake will manage the organization’s growing policy portfolio, tracking critical legislation and ensuring that lawmakers, advocates, and the public are well-informed about New Futures’ core issues.

Jake, a Manchester native, comes to New Futures with a wealth of experience in New Hampshire policy. Most recently, he served as the District Director in the Office of Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster, advising Congresswoman Kuster on key policy positions and bringing together crucial stakeholders to advance community projects. He previously worked as a reporter and editor at the Nashua Telegraph, Keene Sentinel, and Cape Cod Times in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

Jake is a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire and a Hoffman-Haas Board Fellow. He serves on the Board of Directors of Temple Adath Yeshurun and the Jack Fallon Memorial Scholarship. Previously, Jake was a member of the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Press Association, as well as on the advisory board of Best Buddies New Hampshire. Jake received his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College and a Master of Educational Studies from Southern New Hampshire University.

"Jake’s vast experience and the relationships that he has developed at the State House have already made him a key addition to New Futures’ policy team,” said Michele Merritt, Senior Vice President. “We look forward to working closely with him and are sure that his management will allow New Futures to continue to engage advocates and policymakers on the development and implementation of public policies aimed at improving the health and wellness of all Granite Staters.”
