New Futures Commends Governor Ayotte for Investments in Budget Proposal

CONCORD, N.H.--New Futures applauds Governor Kelly Ayotte for including several important investments outlined in the state budget proposal for fiscal year 2026-27.

“We appreciate Governor Ayotte’s attention to critical issues facing children, families, and older adults in New Hampshire in her state budget proposal,” said Michele Merritt, President of New Futures. “These targeted investments will help ensure that Granite Staters can continue to live, work, and thrive in our state.”

The proposed budget includes adequate funding for several key initiatives that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of families across our state:

  • The New Hampshire Child Care Scholarship Program helps families access quality, affordable child care
  • The Alcohol Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Fund (‘Alcohol Fund’) invests in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery.
  • The Children’s System of Care for Behavioral Health improves the mental health of children, youth, and families through a network of resources.
  • Supports for New Hampshire's substance use and mental health systems.
