This Week at the State House: Week of March 16, 2026

It’s a new week and soon we’ll have a new State Representative! Elections were held in towns (but not cities) across the state last Tuesday. We would like to congratulate all our readers who put in the effort to run for office, regardless of the outcome. We also offer our gratitude to those who volunteer as election workers, along with everyone who made it a priority to weigh in on local issues.

Here at New Futures, we work to improve the health and well-being of all Granite Staters through public policy change and civic empowerment at the state level, but there are also many ways we can help create communities that allow residents equitable opportunities to live, work, and thrive at the local level as well.

Last week was a busy one for floor votes, but this week neither the House nor the Senate will be in session. That doesn’t mean there isn’t advocating to do, though! Please read on to learn the status of some of our priority bills and how you can get engaged.

For more information about these issues and other priority legislation, please visit our Current Legislation page.

Your contribution to New Futures will leave a lasting impact in the Granite State!
