This Week at the State House: Week of April 14, 2025

Welcome back to another week of This Week at the State House! As you may know, the NH House of Representatives passed its 2026–27 state budget proposal last Thursday. Unfortunately, the House budget proposal demonstrates a commitment to cutting essential services rather than putting the needs of New Hampshire people at the forefront.

Among the proposals are a three percent cut to Medicaid reimbursement rates for health care providers, a change to the funding structure of the Alcohol Fund, and a significant reduction in funding for mental health services. As the budget bills cross over to the Senate for further work, New Futures is committed to working collaboratively with lawmakers to transform the budget into a plan that truly puts the people of New Hampshire first. Read our full statement here.

In addition to the budget, several priority bills that passed their chamber of origin are crossing over for hearings in the opposite chamber. Make your voice heard by signing in on bills below:

Your contribution to New Futures will leave a lasting impact in the Granite State!
