This Week at the State House: Week of April 28, 2025

It’s hard to believe that May is almost here! The House and Senate will both be in session on Thursday of this week. The Senate will vote on two bills that aim to weaken immunization requirements in New Hampshire. House committees will hold executive sessions on legislation to improve access to affordable child care, as well as harmful bills that would undermine New Hampshire’s Medicaid expansion program and increase criminal punishments for many people with substance use disorder.
Looking ahead, the Senate Finance Committee will hold a public hearing on the state budget proposal on Tuesday, May 6, at the State House in Representatives Hall. The hearing will run from 1:00-5:00 pm, with a dinner break from 5:00-6:00pm, resuming at 6:00pm until everyone is heard. Whether you attend the hearing or email your Senator about your budget concerns (use our easy email form), our Community Engagement team is here to support you.
