Child Care for Child Care Teachers Pilot Program in Effect

Child Care for Child Care Teachers Pilot Program in Effect

New Futures

Child care workers can now access temporary funding to ease the burden of personal child care expenses through a sixth-month pilot program through the State of New Hampshire.

Under the program, child care workers in households earning up to 100% of state median income ($133,450 for a family of four) will have their child care costs capped at 7% of their household income. This could result in substantial savings for early educators, who have historically struggled with the high cost of care for their own children while providing essential services to New Hampshire families. For example, a family of four earning $90,000 annually would see their child care costs capped at approximately $6,450 per year.

The Department of Health & Human Services is encouraging child care workers to apply through the existing New Hampshire Child Care Scholarship application.

The initiative emerged following sustained advocacy efforts from early childhood stakeholders, including New Futures, and represents an innovative approach to addressing workforce retention and child care affordability in the state.

Your contribution to New Futures will leave a lasting impact in the Granite State!
