The Strengthening Families Framework identifies characteristics that, when present and robust in families, make families stronger and child abuse and neglect less likely to occur. Professionals who work with children or parents are in a great position to promote these "Protective Factors" through small but significant changes in how they approach their work.

Bringing the Protective Factors Framework to Life in your Work is a seven-module training that gives real-world examples of everyday actions that professionals can take to promote these important family characteristics.

The training is especially for those whose work focuses on children and is ideally suited for professionals in early learning, family support and strengthening, and health care, or anyone else who wishes to enhance their strength-based practice.

The training is offered in seven modules over two days. The series begins with an overview of the framework and ends with an opportunity to plan how you will implement the framework. The middle five modules each focus on one of the five protective factors.
